Hi everyone! Merry Christmas!

Christmas is quite different in Australia than it is in Japan. It is a traditional holiday that is usually spent with your family. People exchange gifts and often have a large lunch or dinner together. Foods that we usually eat include roast meat or vegetables, and desserts like Pavlova. Pavlova is a dessert made of meringue and fruit that was invented in Australia.

There are often also Christmas light displays and some people decorate their houses as well. We also listen to Christmas music.

Christmas in Australia is unique, because it is summer in December! Sometimes we have outdoor barbecues and go to the beach.

オーストラリアのクリスマスは日本とはちょっと違います。お正月みたいに、伝統的なお祝いです。多くの人は家族と過ごしています。一緒にご飯を食べたり、プレゼント交換したりします。クリスマスによく食べている食べ物はローストや野菜とクリスマスのデザートです。オーストラリアではパブロバが人気あります。パブロバはオーストラリアで発明されたメレンゲとフルーツのデザートです。

イルミネーションもあって、家も飾っています。クリスマスの音楽も聴いています。

オーストラリアのクリスマスはちょっと特殊です。南半球では１２月は夏なので、屋外のバーベキューをしたり、海に行ったりします！
