New Year's Card Game Competition
@The Card Game Competition, organized by the library committee, was held after school on January 18th in the Home Economics Etiquette training room. Students participated in this competition on a voluntary basis so the members of the library committee did not know how many students would take part in the event until the last minute. Therefore, they were worried because it would not be exciting if only a small number of students showed up but it would also be a problem if too many students came for the capacity of the room. Luckily, we had about 30 students (including referees), which was a perfect number, and everybody enjoyed the exciting game. One of the students got 54 cards and took the victory. He said that he often enjoys this kind of card game called Hyakunin Isshu or the Hundred Poems by One Hundred Poets with his family members. The teachers were glad to discover that ever-fading Japanese cultures are still maintained by Hisai High School students.
